Come and get your kicks on Route 66! As a Utica NY Baby photographer, I love to fulfill the vision parents impart to me for their child’s 1-year cake smash session! Both of Eli’s parents love to ride the open road on their motorcycles, so mom wanted to incorporate motorcycles in the theme of his Utica NY Baby Photography session.

Well, I’ve deprived myself, and have never ridden a motorcycle, but after some pondering, I came up with a Route 66 theme. I pitched the idea to Mom, and she loved it! Designing the set was a challenge. Finding a Route 66 atlas to include was a bigger challenge! But it all came together for an awesome cake smash. And Eli literally smashed his cake when he sat in it!

My Cake Smash sessions are in 3 parts to capture a variety of portraits and the personality of your one-year-old. I start with a classic or themed setting, move onto the messy cake smash, and finish it off with the bubble bath blast! The bubble bath is always blast of water through my studio. I keep extra towels on standby for the flood that most likely will occur. During this part of the session, I have parents help by blowing bubbles to bring out the magic in the birthday baby’s eyes!
