The best place on earth, can be found in Jefferson county, located along Three Mile Bay. At this particular location, is my favorite place to spend an afternoon. The season nor day matters. It’s the company and the calming sounds of Lake Ontario that do it for me. I have spent many happy days swimming, collecting snail shells, and snorkeling with my cousins and siblings at this spot.

Walking along the bay for family portraits | Jefferson County Family Photography

This particular family session took place at my favorite spot. My cousin, Katie, requested her family portraits to be done at Grandma’s house. (My kids refer to her as Great Grandma with the White Hair, who lives by the lake.) Of course, this really meant, spending an evening with people I love, so was I really working?

The way the sun sets on the bay in the summer months is directly in front of my grandparent’s cottage, so it was a perfect sunset session on the flat rock bay. Katie always has her family dressed beautifully and brings her fur baby along for the family portraits. Gracie made a great addition to the family session along with her little girl, Cora, who was about 8 months old. Cora and Mason were fun to capture together. I used my husband’s skill of blowing bubbles to keep them still and looking at the camera!

Not only did we capture plenty of beautiful family portraits, but we also had a quick outfit change to support dad’s business Impact Nutrition. Katie had shirts made up for each member of the family and it really worked well for their family session.
