Eden Briar was only 3 days new when I posed her. She was leaving the state in just a couple days to travel home with her military family so time was of the essence. And for the 3rd time in my CNY newborn photography career, I packed up my light and newborn essentials and went to my client.

If you have been following me for more then a year, you may remember a trip I took to Fort Campbell to capture my niece Adilyn. Well, Adilyn now has big sister bragging rights. This time the baby was born in Oswego, so it didn’t require a plane ticket for me to meet her.

Eden’s session was completely thrown together at the last minute. I wasn’t in my cozy studio, but a spare bedroom (my mom has decorated very nice) but also holds other items that have no place to go. I squeezed in with my light and umbrella and posed Eden on the white bed that dubbed as a beanbag. Despite not having a full three hours to shoot, nor doing family and sibling portraits, Eden did a fabulous job posing and I was able to capture some memorable newborn portraits for my sister.

One of the highlights from Eden’s session was her sweet wardrobe. I am a big Anne of Green Gables fan, and I had purchased a charming outfit from Number 2 Willow Lane that had ‘puff sleeves’ like Anne’s! So of course, the line running through my head was Marilla criticizing Anne about Matthew’s choice in dresses. “It looks ridiculous. You’ll have to turn sideways to get through the door!” or with her eyes rolling, “20 pounds of brown sugar.”

The second outfit Eden modeled was bought specifically for her session from the same newborn clothing designer. A cute little camo dress and headband. I had already purchased the boy camo set for Eden’s big brother Colton’s newborn session, and now I can’t wait to capture boy and girl military twins since I have the complete set!
