There’s a lot to prepare for when expecting your precious bundle of joy! Use my check list to be fully prepared for when your baby arrives!

o Pick out your baby’s name! Easier said than done!

o Pre-wash all those baby clothes you have been stocking up on.

o After your baby shower, hand write those ‘thank you’ cards! Make sure you send an extra special ‘thank you’ to those who threw you and baby the shower.

o Pick your pediatrician. Ask your mom friends for tips on who is the best in your community.

o Stock up on entertainment for the snuggle moments and late-night feedings.

o Research feeding and find what works for you. This is your baby. Bottle or breastfed, this is your decision and no one else’s.

o Research a newborn photographer! Make sure she has hands on training! It is best to book your newborn session a few months prior to birth to guarantee a time slot. Give me a call for availability and pricing: (315) 297-1816 Web: simplyshelayna.com

o Download your Baby Shusher app. White noise is a newborn photographer’s best friend. Get your app to help soothe baby to sleep!

o Upgrade your phone storage for all those photo opportunities!

o Have your camera charged and memory cards ready! Set it with your hospital bag so you can have it for those first moments.

o While packing your hospital bag, pack a newborn sized outfit for your new baby to come home in.

o Have your baby’s car seat installed. They won’t let you leave the hospital without one!

o Pick out nursery colors and theme! Don’t forget to share with your newborn photographer so she can coordinate the session with it!

o Get your house clean and ready! It may be a while before you can get back to it!

o Prep some meals for the freezer to pull out and have ready for great dinners. If someone offer to make you dinner, take it!

o Schedule a maternity portrait session. Glamour your beautiful self-up!

o Get your home prepped and ready for your baby. You may not have time to deep clean once your new snuggle buddy comes home.

o If you are planning on returning to work, start looking into child care options.

o Contact your insurance to add your baby to the insurance plan.

o Go on a date… or two or three! Enjoy the time spent with your spouse as much as possible!

o Enjoy the journey!!
