What is more special, than a family willing to travel 3 hours for custom newborn portraits of their baby? Miss Natalie was 30 days new when she came to see me in my home studio. As an Albany Newborn Photographer, I am able to capture older newborns, past the 2-week mark, and still provide parents with a stunning gallery of cuddly, curly, newborn portraits.

I’ve known Miss Natalie’s mama for many years. She, herself, was about six years old when I met her, so I have had the honor of watching her grow up into the beautiful young woman she is now. It was a great honor to capture her little one.

When you bring your newborn to me for a custom newborn portrait session, you are putting your baby in the hands a of a trained newborn photographer. I have been mentored with one of the best in the country, and I continue to train to improve my workflow, skill, and safety procedures. I am even certified with the American Red Cross in infant CPR. I pour myself into my newborn session so you can have the best experience I can offer.
If you are expecting or know a friend who is, please send them my way. I always encourage me expecting mamas to book their sessions prior to giving birth. Though we may not know the exact day your baby is coming, if you book in advance, I will not take more newborn session then I can schedule out in that time period. Once you book, your session is saved on my calendar. When your baby arrives, I ask that you contact me within 1-2 days (while you are waiting in the hospital to be released) and together we will work find a date that works well with both of us.
Newborns are best photographed within 5-12 days of birth. Once they pass the two-week mark, they become less curly and are more likely to want to stay awake then sleep through their newborn sessions. Though I have had plenty of success photographing older newborns, for mom’s peace of mind, I encourage you to book in advance. Give me a call to get the process started today (315) 297-1816 or email me at infor@simplyshelayna.com.
