Happy New Year!!!
As your Syracuse Family Photographer, There’s something about the New Year that I just love. I think it’s the fresh start, a clean calendar, the list of things I am going to accomplish….(yeah right, Shelayna) and the slower period of life (again, YEAH RIGHT, SHELAYNA!)
Year of Milestones
But this year is different. 2026 is the year of milestones for the Snow household. A couple years ago, my husband who loves numbers, observed that starting with his birthday in December of 2025, all 5 of us would hit an important age milestone. Being the planners that we are, we acted upon this knowledge, started saving what we could, so this year the Snows will venture forth on a real vacation. We have never done a vacation to this extent and will need all the pointers we can get!
So, details, Joshua turned 40 on Christmas Eve, 2025. His birthday kicked off our milestones. In February, I will join him at that age (ewe, I can hardly say it! At least my hair and age are finally getting on the same page! I’ve been gray since I was 15!)
With some months in between the next birthday, over our 19th wedding anniversary, the family will take our milestone vacation, celebrating ALL our birthdays together. We’ve already started booking tickets, hotel, and a VBR home to establish that we are really doing this!
The Girls Milestones
Chloe, our youngest daughter, will hit 13 years in September, and with that being said, we will have 3 teenage daughters under one roof! (God, help us!)
Rachel will be joining the ranks of privileged drivers in November when she turns 16, only to complete the finishing touch of turning my hair white!
And Rose, sweet Rose, will be a legal adult in December, just 5 days before her dad’s 41st birthday. She has officially had her last childhood Christmas! How has this happened??
It’s crazy to see how old the girls (and Josh and I) have gotten, knowing that our two oldest will be graduating in 2027 following our milestone years. (Do I need another reason to party?) We have been so blessed to watch them grow into the wonderful young women they are becoming.
